CLAIRE DRUGA BEGAN HER began her journey as an interior design student in North Carolina, steps away from the High Point furniture market. She was a member in the ASID Carolinas chapter, winning an award in the ASID Otto Zenke healthcare design competition her senior year. She received her B.S. in Interior Design from Appalachian State University in 2015 and dreamt of starting her design career in New York.
After graduation, Claire took the leap of faith and moved to New York without a job, but with the determination to connect with the ASID NY Metro chapter. At the first ASID NY event she attended, the graduation party, she received a warm welcome, won an ASID Design Summit ticket, and left with job opportunities and a sense of a vibrant, supportive community. Claire continued to grow as a designer with ASID by participating in numerous continuing education events as well as by joining the Emerging Professional Committee and the Professional Development Committee in 2016.
Claire's work experience includes positions for residential interior designers, design consultant for the Daltile Marazzi Design Studio, and an internship with Fashion Snoops . Claire is currently working toward NCIDQ certification and provides freelance interior design services in New York. It is with great enthusiasm that Claire steps into the role of Membership Director for ASID in October 2018, and she looks forward to connecting with members and giving back to the community that has enriched her design life so much.
